Museums in Malaga - culture within walking distance

Malaga is said to have the most museums per square kilometer in all of Europe. This makes Malaga particularly attractive for travelers who want to combine culture with relaxation, gastronomy, and the Mediterranean outdoors. In recent years, Malaga has developed into a city where culture plays a central role. What was once primarily known as a sun and beach destination is now also a place where art, history, and creativity converge remarkably closely. Dozens of museums are located in and around the historic center, spread across a relatively small area that is easily explored on foot. Malaga's strength lies not only in the number of museums but especially in their variety. Visitors can effortlessly switch between classical painting, modern and contemporary art, local history, interactive exhibitions, and unique niche collections in a single day. Large museums with international allure alternate with smaller, atmospheric museums, often housed in historic buildings. Below, we've listed our favorite museums in random order.
